Loonaloop

Ok so time for a little update I guess, now that I have some time over. I just got home from a nice evening at Spijkenisse Festival. It was small and not very crowded at all. We (Liz (luccas mom), some girls and Jeanette and her son) went to see an Australian danceband with a lot of different influences in music. The band arrived on time, Its not really like a world artist comming to town or something :) (Remember waiting for Avril for fucking 50 mins). Anyways they had all sort of weird instruments, including those long sticks you see on a picture somewhere here. They had electronical violin, 2 synth's, drums and a bass. Further, some electronical drums that made really cool sounds when hitting them. Guess you can bind all sort of samplings to it cause it was voices and really high2low pitch bouncers and stuff. Really neat.

The music itself was cool. The sound quality wasnt that good, at least not in the start where you could hardly hear her sing and she was doing some gestures to the mixer people to turn the mic up several times. After a while that wasnt a problem and the sound was ok. The music was dance, defenetly. They where using all kind of sounds together and it came out really good and it was a good performance. There where not many people there, well there where quite some in the start but i guess they left after a while. There was a small disco nearby, maybe that attracted them more.

After the gig I went to see how much a CD was, it was 15 euros which I think is, well, fair for an indie band touring along so I got one. I also got it signed by everyone in the band and they where really friendly and ... Australian. The songs on the CD was kinda different from the live performance though. The long instrument sounded more and deffo much better live. Also the drums and the electric violin was better live. Guess the singing is better and more listenable on the CD but it was live, so blah doesnt really matter.

If you would like to check them out the page is www.loonaloop.net
I had a great evening, hope you had that too.
Cheers
